Name: Otaktay
Character Model: Shadow Wolf
Age: 27
Class: Tracker
Otaktay was born in the Black Hills to a small tribe. He grew up as a hunter, proficient with bow and tomahawk and was renowned among his people as a tracker, able to find enemies or game in any weather condition. He was given the name Otaktay at the age of 17 when his tribe went to war with a party of Choctaw who had been camping around and desecrating the Black Hills for weeks. He personally slew 6 men during the war, earning him the name "One who kills many".
At the age of 24 he and a group of other hunters were tracking an elusive mountain lion who had slain a young boy of their tribe. They tracked the animal for miles through a blizzard, cornering it at a frozen lake where the beast had gone to drink. Otaktay attempted to bring down the lion with his knife, engaging the beast in combat. He was scarred along his left eye and across his chest from the lion's claws but he was able to end the beast after tackling it through the ice, sinking his blade deep into the lion's chest.
He and the group of hunters returned victiorious with the slain lion preserved within the frigid bliizzard. However they returned to an attack upon their tribe. The Choctaw had killed many of their warriors who defended the elderly and the women and children. The group of hunters fell upon the Choctaw, fighting a brutal battle in the raging blizzard. Otaktay killed 2 men with his knife, taking their scalps as trophies he was wounded by an arrow to his back, swinging to deal with his attacker he was shot again just below the heart. He sunk into the waist-deep snow, the ice around him darkening with blood. A Choctaw brave was preparing to kill him when a wise elder shaman from his tribe shot the man through the neck with an arrow.
After the attack Otaktay healed over several weeks, tended to by the shaman who saved his life. The elder told him he had much to learn about being a warrior. He told him he must go on a journey and find himself. And so, leaving his hunting group as protection for his tribe, he left the tribe and traveled South, eventually finding his way to Texas where he met a tribe of Chiricahua Apache who wielded strange metal weapons which could kill a man from a mile away. They taught Otaktay how to wield them and he developed a fondness for them, eventually becoming quite skilled.
By and by on his travels through Texas, a crazed Comanche man attempted to take his life while he was watering his horse at a stream. The man also wielded a strange metal weapon however his was much smaller and could not shoot as far as Otaktay's, who put him down with a shot to the chest. Otaktay took up the man's weapon, figuring out how it worked he took to carrying it along his waist, preferring to use it when the distance required was too close for his rifle.
He eventually found a permanent camp in a sacred land known as Tall Trees. He made his camp near a lake and it was there he honed his combat abilities, crafting Tomahawks from hand and hunting the wild game within the woods.
